Giving back through assistance and community outreach.
Our story is one that I think still blows our minds some days. We started in early 2020 as a Facebook group for women to cultivate new friendships, uplift one another, and to promote random acts of kindness. Our servant hearts took over, and our dreams to implement community outreach took root. Ourselves, along with almost 700 wonderful women behind us, started reaching further and doing things for our community. We were able to raise money for several community nonprofit organizations, provide school supplies to all Barrow County School, host a community wide trunk or treat, deliver care packages to all of our local fire departments and several healthcare facilities, a food drive, and collect donations and make over 300 Easter baskets for the children in DEFACS care and in the care of other local organizations. During these adventures, we realized that this is what we were put here to do. Becoming a nonprofit seemed to be the only step that made sense, so here we are! Our office is located at the wonderful Wimberly Center for Community Development in Winder Ga.
Along with our random outreach projects, our big task is going to be working with our community members in need of job readiness skills. This will include resume building, application assistance, interview skills, and much more. That being said, we do not function like a staffing service. Our approach is a personalized one. We meet and consult with each client and get to know them and their individual needs in order to serve them in all areas that they need assistance. The goal is to get each person to a point where they can confidently enter the work force and hopefully a long lasting career that fits what they are passionate about. We can't wait to be part of helping work towards a more prosperous community!
We offer job readiness training ( free of charge) to our community, which includes cover letter and resume building, mock interviews, help with finding job opportunities, interview attire, and haircuts for those in need when it's time to go for your interview! We also execute a lot of various community outreach projects where we see needs that need to be met.
We are still out and about with our group, Beauties Blessing Barrow c/o Barbara Shedd Prosperity Project Inc, blessing areas where we see needs arise, but we are also now officially up and running at the office to help with your job search and skill needs. Give us a call or come see us so we can get your individualized process started today!
